Chicago Teachers Union: 'This City Belongs to Black People'

The Chicago Teachers Union (CTU) is pretty much run by communists and racebaiters. This month we get yet another example of that with a CTU organizer claiming that the city "belongs" to African Americans and not white people.

This sort of hate is typical of the CTU. As seen in the video above, CTU President Karen Lewis is very well known for saying that white people and anyone with a few dollars in their pockets should have no right to tell teachers what to do. The above video is from June of this year and shows CTU chief Lewis essentially saying the same thing as the organizer in the latest story.

For that latest story we go to the Chicago Tribune which tells us that CTU organizer Brandon Johnson dutifully echoed his boss, Lewis.

Brandon Johnson, an organizer with the Chicago Teachers Union, fired up the rally crowd at the University of Illinois at Chicago Forum, saying the 35 union and neighborhood groups were there to send a message to “the mayor of this city and his corporate, greedy elitist friends that this city belongs to the people in this room. Black people, brown people, poor people, working-class people."

It should go without saying that Chicago belongs to all its residents, not just blacks and minorities.

But Johnson and Lewis aren't the only CTU union goons regurgitating such left-wing, anti-American rhetoric.

Only a few months ago another CTU operative, one Timothy Meegan, said that capitalism has failed, that government is for redistributing wealth, and that armed revolution is coming unless we all bend to his union demands.

Meegan made these comments at the protest of the ALEC meeting held in Chicago on August 8, 2013.

So, as you can see, the CTU is shot through with people that espouse communist, anti-American ideas.

And remember, people like this are leeches living off our tax dollars, not just in Chicago but every city in the nation.

  • Sorry Karen but it "belongs" to people who CARE about the education of their race be it whatever color of the rainbow no one and I mean NO ONE has a lock or special position in regard to race I am a black man who grew up in the hood and watched it devolve from atrophy avarice and blatant egotism on the part of our "Black" leaders stop with the self-pity come into the 21st century where supplies are low and demands high and without a commitment to education by "Black" parents all is lost what was needed and never implemented was saving the extinction of the black family as we know it today with children having children with no adult guidance thereby no common history or thread to which to raise their young children without a touchstone to guide them it is we who were permissive with our morals and values and we are paying for it with disillusioned kids who want to get rich or die tryin.

If that is the way the CTU wants it, I will be more than glad to oblige. I just will not work and when enough of us stop working you will be in trouble. After all, the majority of the money that pays your paychecks come from non union taxpayers.

  • According to the census, the median household income of Chicago $47,408. Mr. Meegan, in the bottom video, made $77,441. Mr. Meegan made $30,033 more than the median income, perhaps he should redistribute some of his wealth. I'm willing to bet Ms. Lewis makes well above that considering her predecessor made over $200,000. Let's not forget though, it's only the rich white people that are the issue, not the grossly overpaid teachers and teachers union presidents.

Eric Holder plays the race card. Obama plays the race card. This union person displays the race. Other than the KKK and Nazi's, I don't know of any (as far as I have seen) play the white card. Six months out of the year, it's Black History month, but no White History Months? Wait, White History month would be racist.

In the end, I hear blaming white people for all the problems for the poor black people. The speech is really no different then some white person in the deep south blaming black people for the white people problems. Am I missing something here? On top of it, Unions don't pay attention to taxpayers, in this case, parents about anything. And, Unions murdered Tweekie's and Hostess.

Who was stupid enough to put this racist in the office she controls? I know my daughter would not be treated and educated fairly under her watch.
