Lombard Gas Station Sells Gas for $1.88, Same As When Obama Took Office

Here is something the liberal media won't talk about. When Obama was elected president, gas was only $1.88 (average across the country). Now it is nearly $5 a gallon!

Well, a gas station in Lombard lent itself to a bit of a protest event put on by Americans for Prosperity and for a period of time last week sold gas for that $1.88 a gallon to remind drivers what it was like back in the old days... of four short years ago.

The October 5 event was sponsored by Americans For Prosperity and was held at the Road Ranger station in Lombard, A north western suburb. The $1.88 sale price was set to highlight Obama's failures in office.

David From, the Illinois State director for AFP, told the media that the event was part of AFP's Obama's Failing agenda Tour.

Mr. From pointed out that prices have more than doubled since Obama took office and the President is "standing in the way" of new oil drilling in our own country.

  • Gas prices rose to $4.21 under George W. Bush. One of the reasons it was at $1.88 when GWB left office was that the Great Recession reduced demand.
