From Lake County Right to Life…
Lake County Right to Life's Annual Benefit Banquet is almost here! It will be held on Thursday, April 19, 2012 from 6:30PM to 9:00PM in the Prairie Ballroom at the Double Tree Hotel by Hilton on 510 E. IL. Rte. 83 in Mundelein.
Our featured speaker will be Kristan Hawkins, executive director of Students for Life of America (SFLA). Kristan was a political appointee in the George W. Bush Administration at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Center for Faith Based and Community Initiatives. In 2006, Kristan became the first executive director of SFLA. Since that time, she has tripled the number of pro-life campus groups in the United States. Kristan is also well known for her work in leading the successful Stop The Abortion Mandate Coalition", which brought together over 70 pro-life and pro-family leaders in a national coalition dedicated to stopping government funding of abortion in health care reform . She has appeared on Fox News, CNN and the Christian Broadcasting Network.
Kristan is a summa cum laude graduate of Bethany College in West Virginia, where she resides with her husband Jonathan and two sons, Gunner and Bear. She launched healthcareforgunner.com, a website dedicated to her son Gunner, who suffers from cystic fibrosis, in order to raise the issue of health care rationing in a government health care system.
This is a double whammy! The Banquet is a tax-deductible opportunity to support Lake County Right to Life, while enjoying a very pleasant evening while hearing a nationally known speaker, tell us about "Turning The Tide On Abortion."
