Video Interview: Eric O'Keefe and Getting Rid Of Obamacare With The Health Care Compact

-By Warner Todd Huston

Obamacare will sink this country if it is ever allowed to come into full operation. So says Eric O'Keefe, Chairman of Sam Adams Alliance, a Chicago-based, free market organization, and chief advocate for the Health Care Compact, an effort that can replace Obamacare and give us a truly American way to address our healthcare problems.

I met up with Mr. O'Keefe at the RightOnLine conference in beautiful downtown Minneapolis, Minnesota this year and in the following video we talk about a great new way to get rid of Obamacare and solve our healthcare problems at the same time.

Mr. O'Keefe is a principle advocate of the Health Care Compact (healthcarecompact.org), a great 10th Amendment effort to return the problems and solutions of healthcare to the states.

From the Compact's website:

The Health Care Compact is an interstate compact - which is simply an agreement between two or more states that is consented to by Congress - that restores authority and responsibility for health care regulation to the member states (except for military health care, which will remain federal), and provides the funds to the states to fulfill that responsibility.

14 states have already signed onto the Compact and two have put it into law. Two more are in the process of approving it, too. As this idea spreads it will replace Obamacare and take away this power from the federal government.

It's one thing to complain about the illicit powergrab that is Obamacare, but here is at least one legitimate alternative, one that fits the American character far better than Obama's European, socialist ideas.

  • Sam Adams Alliance is not a small grassroots homegrown organization led by ordinary citizens. It's a sleeper-cell blog for the Koch's mega freedomworks movement. In these times, if you want to push for policies that help the super-wealthy, you better do everything you can to make it seem like it

Are the black helicopters following you again? You should see someone about that. Like... a psychiatrist.

  • In reply to publiusforum:

Substantive retort as always. I love when truth hits your blog, you resort to character attacks.

Are you denying the Koch imprint on Sam Adams Alliance?

The top two board directors at the Sam Adams Alliance include two figures with deep ties to Koch-funded programs: Eric O

  • In reply to Crowned:

Don't deny it. Just don't find it anything to get all upset about. Only a conspiracy nut thinks that things that are completely out in the open are somehow "hidden" like you and your nutty kind do. Nothing could be more American than Americans funding the things they like.

  • In reply to Crowned:

There is no free market in healthcare now and it has not been since the first pool of medical insurance money began the artificial price support of medicine. Free market is transactions between individuals. If nobody but a few can afford the care there is no market. Communal payment whether pooled by profit skimming businesses, or our government by the "people" are essentially the same. Both are riddled by human greed and corruption. Only one does not take the profit off the top before doling out what is left for actual "health" care.

  • In reply to symes4u:

I agree that there is no free market in healthcare now. That is because gov't already interferes so much. Once Obamacare hits, it will make matter worse by many magnitudes.

  • In reply to publiusforum:

You are right because it is bought legislation, compromised into submission by those with the most to gain. Cute pounding the kitsch phrase Obamacare to describe what is really Insurance Company Boondoggle Care. I smell big lie perpetration.

  • In reply to symes4u:

I smell the big lie, too. Every time you comment.
