Berkowitz w modern American woman State Rep. Candidate Biela on how to cut property & IL income taxes, Cable & Web

Tonight’s City of Chicago edition of Public Affairs features State Rep. Candidate Amanda Biela (R-Edgebrook), who is challenging 14 year Democrat incumbent, John D’Amico, in the 15th State House District.

The show airs throughout the City of Chicago at 8:30 pm and midnight on Cable Ch. 21 [CAN TV]. This is show 2 of a two part series with Biela.

Candidate Biela asserts that D'Amico and his extended family are part of a half century old Democratic Party Machine that have controlled and still control the 39th Ward and areas beyond that.

Rep. Candidate Biela hopes to put an end to the reign of the D'Amico- Madigan machine in the north west part of the City and northwest suburbs that are part of the 15th House District.

The 2nd show with Rep. Candidate Biela also airs twice daily in Evanston, 8:30 am and 8:30 pm, Cable Ch. 6, starting tonight and continuing through next Monday.

Rep. Candidate Amanda Biela exemplifies the modern American woman (smart, career oriented, often family oriented and often involved in  government) who can have a career out of the home and also be a stay at home mom. As she says, it is about each woman being able to choose- sometimes changing her choice over time.

After teaching, working at a not for profit and focusing on raising her 3 kids, Amanda Biela is running to be a citizen-State Rep.Candidate, not a career politican, and will continue to be a mom to her kids and wife to her husband, Michael.

In tonight's show, Biela emphasizes she wants Edgebrook and the surrounding areas in the City and suburbs to continue to be places where the economy is  strong enough to keep your kids, after they grow up, in Illinois.

State Rep. Biela Candidate Biela outlines how she would roll back the 2017 income tax increase to 3%, as opposed to the current 4.95%, saving many of her constituents in the range of $3000 per year.

Biela also supports a 1% [of home market value] hard property tax cap, which might save many of her constituents up to $5,000 per year.

Biela thinks those kinds of tax cuts (also on the corporate side) will help stop the out-migration of taxpayers, jobs and businesses from Illinois to other states.

We will discuss some of the reforms Biela proposes in our blog post of tomorrow afternoon discussing the airing of the show tomorrow night in many north and northwest suburbs.
