Tonight's City of Chicago, Chicago Metro suburban, Evanston and Aurora editions of Public Affairs features State Rep. and Republican Primary gubernatorial candidate Jeanne Ives discussing the key Republican Primary issues with show host Berkowitz.
These issues include blatant lying of historic proportions by Gov. Rauner, which even the mainstream media e.g., Kass and Hinz have written about.
Gov. Rauner's collosal lying has included numerous lies in Rauner's mailers and TV ads (costing tens of millions of dollars) about Jeanne Ives' positions on income taxes and property taxes (watch 2 min clip here), a Rauner fabricated political association between Speaker Madigan and Ives and Rauner's most shameful and sinful lie- a promise given to Cardinal Cupich that Rauner would not sign into law taxpayer funding of elective abortions.
Also discussed on tonight's show are the needless dozen deaths at the Quincy Vet home due to Rauner's dithering after the first death was known about by team Rauner, Rauner's failure to get any of his sought after turnaround agenda business reforms seriously considered (let alone passed into law), Rauner's failure to get an agreed upon budget in fiscal years 2016 & 2017 and Rauner's failure to take charge of the Republican caucus (let alone multiple portions of State Government) to block the $5 billion tax increase.
Also included in tonight's show is Berkowitz commenting on the Democratic Party gubernatorial primary and some likely fall, 2018 Gubernatorial general election issues (Watch 2 min clip about picking among the 5 major Gov candidates).
