Dr. Shah's ... current indecision of whether to take Grover Norquist's pledge not to increase federal taxes
Tonight’s Chicago metro suburban edition of Public Affairs (See airing schedule, below) features Dr. Sapan Shah (R-Libertyville), a candidate in the 2018 IL 10th CD Republican Primary, interviewed by show host Jeff Berkowitz. The current incumbent in the IL 10th CD is Democrat Brad Schneider, but the Republicans have held the seat for 35 of the last 38 years.
Among other topics, show host Berkowitz debates and discusses with Dr. Shah repeal and replacement of Obamacare, how to reduce healthcare and other federal program costs, Dr. Shah's support of income tax rate cuts but his current indecision of whether to take Grover Norquist's pledge not to increase federal taxes and Dr. Shah's self description as a conservative but one who supports a woman's right to choose.
Dr. Sapan has both an MD and a JD, but has not practiced law or medicine.
Dr. Shah's major opposition in the primary comes from Doug Bennett (R-Deerfield) and Jeremy Wentz (R-HIghland Park).
