Tonight’s Chicago Metro North and Northwest suburban edition of “Public Affairs,” features Hannah Pittard, novelist and DePaul University Visiting Assistant Professor in fiction ( in her 4th year on the DePaul Faculty).   The show with Pittard, whose second novel, "Reunion," will hit the bookstores in the fall of 2014, airs  tonight (Tuesday) at 8:30 pm in 24 North and Northwest Chicago Metro suburbs on

Pittard debates and discusses with show host Jeff Berkowitz what makes for good novel writing, whether good writers of fiction write more from experience or imagination, whether Hemingway and Mailer were great writers, whether it is easy for a woman to "Cheat," on her husband, whether female writers can "Write men well," and vice-versa  and whether sex is on the mind of teenage girls/women as much as it preoccupies most teenage boys/men. Pittard and Berkowitz discuss the meaning, plot, character development and writing style of Pittard's 2011 novel, "The Fates Will Find Their Way"(Harper Collins/Ecco) and to a much lesser extent aspects of her second novel "Reunion."
