Better than Obama v. McCain: Berkowitz interviewed by the Illinois Policy Institute's Tillman about Obama and State GOP Leaders, Cable and Web

Jeff Berkowitz: …There is something special about the guy [President Obama], a certain je ne sais quoi, a certain charm…

Tonight's City of Chicago edition of Public Affairs features John Tillman, CEO of the Illinois Policy Institute, as the guest host, questioning Jeff Berkowitz (who has the role of guest tonight) about the  economic and education  policies of the Obama administration, why the State GOP leadership can't seem  to improve the position of the Republican Party and a myriad of other public policy and political issues. The show airs tonight at 8:30 pm on Cable Ch. 21 (CANTV).

You can also watch the show with Tillman and Berkowitz  switching their usual roles here. The show was taped on Feb. 16, 2013.

Jeff Berkowitz: …unions are important to President Obama as a political force …[but] if he were completely beholden to unions, he would have never come out for charter schools, there are many Democrats who don’t support charter schools.

John Tillman: …How do you think Obama has changed since he was on your shows?

Jeff Berkowitz: …There is something special about the guy [Obama], a certain je ne sais quoi, a certain charm…

John Tillman: Do you think [President Obama] is still intellectually curious…do you think he is  still open-minded...

Jeff Berkowitz: Do you think McCain would have performed better than Obama has in the [economic arena] if he had become President?  It is always a matter of what is the alternative.

John Tillman: The great part about me being the host is that I can ignore that question and move on to what I want to talk about.
