Better than AG Madigan crossing Blagojevich: Berkowitz w/Blago trial counsel Goldstein on Blago, Daley and Alvarez, Cable/Web

Jeff Berkowitz: I’m not saying Mayor Daley did anything wrong. I’m not saying [Cook County State’s Attorney Anita] Alvarez—but if  [they did something illegal], I’d be shaking in my boots, wouldn’t I, with [Special prosecutor Webb possibly] coming after them.

Blagojevich lead trial counsel Aaron Goldstein:  If he can get the witnesses to corroborate—

Berkowitz:  Because if [Dan Webb] can get the evidence, he’ll do it, he’ll do it in a heartbeat.

Goldstein: I would assume so. He’s been empowered to do so…

Berkowitz: He’s the best damn defense lawyer…on white collar public corruption, is Dan Webb the best in the City of Chicago?

Aaron Goldstein: I’ll take the 5th Amendment.

Tonight's City of Chicago edition of "Public Affairs with Jeff Berkowitz" features Aaron Goldstein, lead trial counsel in Gov. Rod Blagojevich's second trial. The show airs tonight  at 8:30 pm on Cable 21 [CANTV] throughout the City of Chicago.

You can also watch the show with Blagojevich lead trial counsel Aaron Goldstein here.

Did Gov. Rod Blagojevich do anything different from what politicians do day in and day out, i.e., swap favors for campaign contributions, swap favors for ambassadorships, etc. Did President Obama pull a Blagojevich when he sent his aides to offer gratitude to Rod if he would appoint Obama's friend, Valerie Jarrett to the United States Senate.

Is Mayor Daley's nephew, Mr. Vanecko, guilty of involuntary manslaughter. Was that whole matter covered up for 8 years by the Cook County State's Attorney's office and the Chicago cops?  Will Special Prosecutor Dan Webb prosecute attorneys who were and/are in the Cook County State's Attorney's office for their involvement in a cover-up? Will Webb prosecute Chicago cops for their involvement in a possible Vanecko matter cover-up?  Could culpability extend to Anita Alvarez? Watch show host Berkowitz debate and discuss these and other legal/political issues with Blagojevich trial counsel Aaron Goldstein.
