The 2nd Cong. District Democratic Primary is being held on Feb. 26, 2012 as part of the Special Election to replace Cong. Jesse Jackson, Jr., who resigned due to legal, mental, physical and social difficulties.  After putting up with the nuttiness, on and off for the last two decades, of its former U. S. Representatives-- Jackson, Reynolds and Savage, is the 2nd Cong. District finally ready to elect a responsible leader, i.e., is the 2nd CD ready for reform?

Would Rev. Pickens bring a certain level of moral authority and respectability to the 2nd CD seat that has been absent for many years?  There are possibly 20, or so, candidates who may file shortly to be placed on the ballot, but only a half dozen, or so, are likely to have a shot at winning the race. Could Rev. Pickens be one of them?

To get answers to the above  and many other questions, watch 2nd Cong. District Democratic Party Primary candidate Rev. Larry Pickens (D-Calumet Heights) debate and discuss the issues with show host Jeff Berkowitz on the  City of Chicago edition of Public Affairs, airing throughout the City tonight at 8:30 pm on Cable Ch. 21 [CANTV].  Go here for more about the show and here for more about the 2nd CD special election and the likely "major" candidates.
