Jeff Berkowitz: Yeah, so you got to get the those pension payments down relative to economic growth for the state

Sen. Bill Brady: Every day the Governor delays to lead on this, we’re digging a deeper hole.

Tonight's City o f  Chicago edition  of “Public Affairs,” features Senator Bill Brady (R-Bloomington), almost surely a candidate for Governor in the 2014 Republican Primary.   The show airs throughout the City of Chicago tonight at 8;30 pm on Cable Ch. 21 [CANTV] . In a show taped on December 2,  2012, Senator Brady debates and discusses with show host Jeff Berkowitz why he thinks he would do better in a 2014 gubernatorial general election than he did in the 2010 gubernatorial race,  the specifics of he kind of state employee pension reform he favors, how he would get the Illinois economy moving, his daughter's fall, 2013, wedding in Chicago, school choice, why Brady thinks he would be a better candidate than Dillard, Rutherford, et al for Governor, the 2012 polling  that Brady thinks shows he would be the Republican Party's strongest candidate for Governor in 2014 and much, much more

  • I figure that if Brady couldn't beat weak candidate Quinn a couple of years ago, he won't a couple of years hence. Unless a candidate can get the women's vote in DuPage County, which would require that the DuPage candidates not cannibalize themselves again, they aren't going to win.

At least Rutherford has won statewide once, and, as Treasurer, should know something about money, something Quinn does not.
