Watch potential guv candidate Sen. Matt Murphy on Cable/Web discussing pension/Medicaid/education reform

State Senator Matt Murphy (R-Palatine) is the featured guest this evening on “Public Affairs with Jeff Berkowitz,” airing in 24 North and Northwest Chicago Metro Suburbs.  Murphy, 42, who lost a close race for the Republican nomination for Lt. Gov. in 2012, is thought by many to be among the top three candidates for the Republican nomination for Governor in 2014.

Senator Murphy, who practices law with a loop law firm and is serving in his 6th year in the state senate, debates and discusses with show host Jeff Berkowitz reform of state employee and teacher pensions, Medicaid and education-  the three big drivers of State spending.

Repeal of the 2011 Illinois income tax increase, dealing with the State’s 7 billion dollar backlog of unpaid bills, the “crowd out effect of state pensions,” and making healthcare more accessible to the “truly needy,” are also discussed.
