Yay! This blog is full of goodies and sweets for Valentines Day. Let's get this party started because at the bottom of this blog post there is a contest where you can win your own featured blog on Pretty Cheap and I will send you some Fab Valentines gifts just to sweeten the deal!
Over the next week I am going to be giving you a Valentine's Day shopping guide for everyone in your life to make sure that you make the sweetest choice. If you have a BFF, daughter or sister read on. Oh, I almost forgot... there is also a slight chance that you will just want to pick some of these up for yourself as well. Just sayin.
Two words friends, Hard Candy! It's all about Hard Candy right now. This outstanding make up line can be found at all Walmart locations! In other words you can get it no matter where you are. Even if you are feeling like not leaving your pad you can check it out on www.Walmart.com. All I have to say is that someone finally got hot, hip, affordable makeup right. I personally think everyone should own one of their nail polishes. Did I mention that every polish comes with a matching ring on the bottle?! Flawless! Hard Candy is so perfect for right now and is just so freakin fun. Young makeup junkies will back this line because it is bold and trendy. Grown up makeup pros will love it because it is fresh and not to heavy. Hard Candy is quickly bumping some of my designer make up duds off of my A list and onto my D list. This makes me happy because lets face it the price is very right.
If your Valentine is more low key try the nail polish Date Night with some Glitteratzi Body Spray or Outrageously Delicious flavored body powder. If you Valentine likes to glam it up and take a walk on the wild side go for Mr. Right nail polish and the Animal Eye Tattoo press on eyeshadow. These eye tattoos are great for the make up girl that has everything. Top off these gifts with anything from the Hard Candy menu because the whole line is just that clever and good!
Got a glam girl in training on your hands? Have her give FAB Beauty a shot! You can also find FAB Beauty at all Walmart stores and online. Don't worry guys with prices from 98 cents to $14.98 they are keeping things Pretty and Cheap. Grab a few of the FAB glosses and one of the Heart shaped body washes and voila! You have a tween dream gift on your hands! My personal fave for any age? Cupcake Bath Fizzers. These treats are adorable and fun. Don't worry, these products are totally age appropriate.
Any chance you want to be my Valentine this year? I have a contest for you win my heart and some FAB goodies!

I adore Hard Candy! So fun and affordable! Great blog!
One of my very favourite make up tricks to do (i'm not sure if its really a trick or not honestly) has to do with eyeliner. I have not found the perfect liquid eyeliner, or one that stays on all that long so what I've started to do is once i've put the eyeliner on, I dab my eye lid (after it has dried a bit of course) w/ transluscent face powder. It looks like it lightens the liner a bit for a minute or so but eventually it is absorbed and ends up helping your eyeliner to stay put longer. I suppose the best way to describe it is like using setting powder on stage make up. Keeps it in place longer! Fabu!
metal spoons in the freezer!!!! aka crack spoons!!! on hungover mornings or mornings where waking up wasn't exactly what you wanted your eyes to looks like head straight to the freezer, grab your spoons flip them over and lay them on ur puffy tired eyes!!! refreshing&&renewing!!! love&&love
I always loved Hard Candy products when I'd see them at Sephora. I had no idea their products are now sold at Wal-Mart. They've clearly lowered their price points since I don't recall Sephora selling anything with Hard Candy's name on it for 98 cents! This is good news. My beauty tip deals with the application of eye shadow. It never failed, whenever I applied anything from dark shades, to loose-powder shimmery eye shadows, it would fall to places it didn't belong (we're talkin' like under my eyes and even onto my cheeks and nose). Most people's first plan of action to remove it would be to swipe it away with a finger until they realize they've now just smudged it into the face even more. Um, disaster. So a simple way to avoid getting any eye shadow on any place other than your eyelid, is to place a tissue paper under the bottom of your eye and just hold it there with one hand while you apply the eye shadow with the other hand. This way, whatever happens to fall off of the brush lands on the tissue and not on your face. Works every time!
My best makeup tip has to do with undereyes and skin. If your undereye area and skin on the face is dry and/or dehydrated, the rest of your makeup will not look good. Period. Make sure you are using a hydrating eye cream twice a day-yes twice-it needs moisture! If it is not, as well as your skin, it will suck the moisture from the makeup, which can make makeup (foundation and concealer) look dry and cakey. Make sure also you are using the right moisture for your skin. Just because you were oily in your teens, does not mean you are oily now! Great skin=a beautiful, flawless face!
I hate wasting product, especially when my liquid foundation costs as much as monthly cellphone bill. My beauty tip is to apply my moisturizer with a foundation brush. Not only are you freeing your face of bacteria that may be on your hands( i got tired of hand sanitizer drying my hands out in the winter), your foundation brush is now moist and won't soak up all of your foundation!
Love, love, love your updates & advice! I'm not a huge make-up person, but your blogs always get me more interested! One of my favorite beauty tricks is keeping a small container of baby powder in your purse, gym bag, car, or wherever (Regular Johnson & Johnson is best...no glitter, color or fancy fragrance). I keep the powder on me in order to maintain my side-swept bangs. They are laying right across my forehead, where my skin tends to become a little more oily throughout the day. I try my best not to touch my face & hair as much as possible, as that adds lots of oils (among other things) to both. However, as little as I touch my hair & face, there are days it's inevitable that by the end of work my bangs are a little on the greasey side & I don't have time to go home before happy hour. Enter baby powder. I pour a bit out on my hands & rub them through my bangs (making sure not to leave white streaks in my hair). Boom, the powder absorbs excess oils & the clean bareley there fragrance is refreshing, too!
My best beauty tip is to use quality make up and then use it sparingly. We often balk at the price of expensive mascara, foundation, etc...but in the long run, quality products require less to be effective and save us money in the long run!
I think my favorite beauty tip is calling Eliza and flat out asking for help! But if I had to pick one that wasn't that, I think its making sure to use some sort of eye prep before you put on eyeshadow. I have super oily skin and this is the only way I can keep my eyeshadow from smearing and being a hot mess. A lot of people swear by using concealer/foundation or a product specifically made to be eyeshadow prep, like the one Urban Decay makes. Personally, I use a MAC paint in sublime nature that is pretty close to my skin tone. It keeps my shadows from budging and makes the colors all the bolder!
Aside from yelling down the hallway and asking you for help, I'd say the bes beauty tip I've received is to brush my lips with my toothbrush before applying lipstick. It doesn't look gross and flaky, and it seems to stay on way longer.
I've loved Hard Candy for years! I remember finding the perfect color of nail polish to match my homecoming dress back in high school when I could only find the line at Nordstrom. Crazy to see that it's now stocked in WalMart!
Keep um coming guys! These are great and I won't pick a winner for another week! xo Eliza
Because my skin is super duper dry I always mix my foundation with a little bit of daytime moisturizer before applying to my face. It solves my problem of flaky looking foundation (eww.)and it also stretches out my foundation so I don't have to buy it as often. Also, I use hair conditioner instead of shaving cream when shaving my legs...alot cheaper and skin feels softer.
