Head Coach:  Nick Hill

Overall Record:  2-9

Conference Record:  1-7

Biggest Win:  The Salukis snapped a six-game losing streak with an inspired performance in a 49-35 road win at Missouri State.

Most Frustrating Loss:  Western Illinois scored 20 unanswered points in the fourth quarter, including a 33-yard game-winning field goal with 13 seconds left, handing SIU yet another heart-breaking loss, 34-31. Shortly after the season ended, SIU dimissed four assistant coaches.

Quoatable & Notable:  We have to play championship football at the quarterback position. We have to find a guy who is going to be the guy, the leader."

Returning strengths for 2019:  Hill has the players that his staff has recruited the past three years in place; now it's time for them to perform as upperclassmen; versatile D.J. Davis returns for his senior season

Emerging Star:  Crete-Monee High School standout Landon Lenoir returns as SIU's leading receiver for next season

Giving Thanks:  SIU being recognized as No. 2 in the nation for its charity hours

New Year's Wish List:  SIU suffered a number of key injuries during this past season. Any hopes that the Salukis have for a successful 2019 hinges on improved health throughout the campaign.

Biggest Shoes to Fill:  WR Raphel Leonard, the Salukis' top pass catcher and deep threat
