What's it like to have been named a captain for this year's team?
I feel like it’s the same. Even though last year I wasn’t labeled a captain, I still took on that role. Once you get labeled something, more people look at you. I have to be more aware of how I act and the way I do things.
This is year two with Nick Hill as head coach and year two with the 3-4 defense. How are things different than a year ago?
It’s our second year with this defense so there should be a lot fewer mistakes. Everybody in the rotation should be ready to make plays.
How are you approaching this year's schedule?
You’ve got focus on that one game, that’s all that matters. You’ve got to win that game that week.
What's your favorite video game system?
That would be XBox One. I used to be a Playstation guy when I was younger, but XBoX One is it now. The controllers fit better in your hand.
Cake or pie?
Cake, most definitely. I just don’t like pie. Red velvet cake is my first choice.
What college football team did you follow when you were growing up?
Ohio State. I just woke up one day and was like, I like Ohio State.
Ruling out SIU, which Missouri Valley team has the best uniforms?
Illinois State. Their uniforms have a classic vibe.
What's the last pizza you ordered?
Unos. Sausage, bacon, some pepperoni.
