Shawn Tompkins Died at 37

Yesterday, Sunday, August 14th Shawn Tompkins died at 37 years old.   Tompkins a respected MMA trainer was found dead in Canada.  The death has been confirmed by his wife Emile.  Tompkins is a respected trainer.  He is most known for being a mentor to Mark Hominick and Sam Stout (his brother in law).

According to reports, Bas Rutten, a close friend of Tompkins received a text from him Saturday night, “He texted me late last night, telling me he loved me, “ Rutten said. “So thank God I called him to tell him it was mutual.”

Tompkins was a kickboxing and muay thai fighter for many years, along with a short go of MMA fighting.  But he entered the fight community coaching for the International Fight League.  He worked as a coach for Xtreme Couture before establishing his own Tapout Training Center in Las Vegas.

Cause of death has not been released.
