10 of the Greatest Kicks in MMA

Kicks are a difficult tool to use in MMA.  They expose a fighter to everything allowed inside the cage.  However, when they are thrown perfectly, they are the prettiest thing in MMA.  You just can not go wrong with seeing long legs stretch across the canvas towards an opponent and land with accurancy and precision.  I have gathered some gorgeous kicks that show one element of this artform called mixed martial arts.

Okay this is number 11 - Bruce Lee
I had ti throw it in - it is so awseome every time you look at it - inspiration for probably most of these fighters shown above.
ANthony Njokuani vs Chris Horodecki
Njokuani got Horodecki in retreat - but back turned - not a safe way to play defend. Thai round catches Horodecki as he runs away.
Anderson SIlva and Dan Henderson
Silva has an arsenal of it all. This throat kick, MT front is classic!
MIrko Cro Cop vs Fedor Emelianenko
Fedor dishing out a little of the same at Cro Cop. Not a bad high kick.

Another MMA athlete that comes form a traditional martial arts background. GSP uses his kicks perfectly - long range tool to control fighters that prefer being close enough for take down attempts and power punching.
Gina Carano vs Kelly Kobold
Carano is a Muay Thai specialist. Her MT kicks are amazing. Here is a beautiful punching front that does exactly what it is intended to do.
Rich Franklin vs Wanderlei Silva
Rich has great looking kicks for a BJJ boxer. Although he trains it all, Rich loves his boxing BJJ workouts.
Cung Le
All his kicks are amazing. The beauty of coming form a traditional martial art, it that he brings several spinning kicks, like spinning back kick.

    Another good one was Yves Edwards catching Josh Thompson from behind w/ the jumping Thai kick.

    The Crow's spinning back kick on Charles McCarthy.

    Petey Williams on Mark Coleman is one of the most significant.
