My paths have crossed with Mark DellaGrotte many times over the years. But until 2014, this path didn’t facilitate much conversation or interaction. When I worked as a free-lance writer for Ultimate Grappling Magazine covering many of the UFC events, the hustle and bustle of pre-fight interviews, and the frantic fight-time coverage did not leave... UFC on FOX last night was much better than I anticipated. Rashad Evans (17-1-1) vs Phil Davis (9-1) was the headlining bout. Former Penn State wrestler Davis entered the octagon on a winning streak, yet without truly equal skills to his opponent, the favored Evans. Despite Davis not being my first pick for a bout... Yesterday I picked the 10 greatest moments in UFC history
. The credit on doing these two write-ups belongs to Scott Hamill, Bleacher Report writer who compiled his 100 Greatest Moments in UFC History
. After finally getting through the list he put together, I found myself shaking my head at several points while reading. I already gave you my top ten from his list and today I give you the opposite.
I would have never placed these events on the top 100 moments in UFC history
. I hope to hear back on some of your favorite’s from Scott Harris’ list on the Bleacher Report
. I am sure you will find my opinion is more defined in this list I have compiled below. I didn’t rank them in any particular order. The number in front indicates where you can find them on Scott Hamill’s original Bleacher Report blog in the slideshow he compiled. So here are my 10 picks of the most unworthy UFC moments
that were chosen for UFC’s 100 Greatest Moments. Just for fun, I would love to hear what you feel does not deserve to be listed either...
The Bleacher Report
does some great stories and always offers my favorite fight coverage. They recently did a write up on the 100 Greatest Moments in UFC History
. From a writer’s point-of-view – how unbelievably time consuming. Scott Hamill (the writer) I need you to know it took me a couple days to get through your list with reflection. But I respect how long it must have taken to put this list together and the collaborative effort to really think through all the monumental events in the history of MMA – which has been facilitated mostly by the UFC organization.
Although I don’t agree with everything they have listed, I decided to feature two of my own lists. The first list is below. They are the 10 most worthy mentions on the Bleacher Report list of 100 Greatest Moments.
Tomorrow, I will give you the 10 worst picks on the list. The number in front of each moment is the slide it corresponds to with Hamill's write on the Bleacher Report

With GSP off the UFC 137 card due to an injury, Nick Diaz and B.J. Penn are now going at it for 3 rounds. Diaz hoping for a more motivating fight – with 5 rounds against Benn, instead of the scheduled 3 rounds. It is odd that Diaz is now back in the mix, considering he... Read more »
If you are part of the MMA industry on any level then you know that there are a lot of talented fighters. So many of them have seen the lime-light on PPV cards, yet they sit on a bench waiting to be called into the octagon once again. Many organizations have offered the growing talent... Read more »

The efforts being made by Marc Ratner, UFC VP Regulatory Affairs and Dana White, UFC President are truly appreciated. Their battle against the Bob Reily’s of the world, NY Assemblyman who is fighting against its legalization, has been hindered by several outfits that produce unsanctioned events. Their brigade against conservative legislators, whose campaign is predicated... Read more »
Spencer Tucksen put together a great list of MMA fighters on the Bleacherreport that have never won the belt in the UFC. I am sure it was hard to decide on only ten. He says he was inspired by Kenny Florian’s loss at UFC 118 to Gray Maynard. I am not sure I agree that... Read more »
