Let the controversy begin!
Lady Gaga's new hit 'Born This Way' has not been out six hours and it's already causing a stir for the wrong reasons.
Ok! Magazine states:
Lady Gaga was at the center of a Twitter storm this morning after she was accused of COPYING Madonna with her brand song Born This Way. The Just Dance singer, who aired the tune for the first time this morning, got a torrent of abuse for it sounding just like some of Madge's 80s tracks - in particular Express Yourself.
One tweeter said: "Second listening of 'Born this way' and @LadyGaGa sounds SO MUCH like Madonna... Why does she copy her so much?"
Another angrily posted: "Madonna RT if u hate gaga for ripping off real artist with real talent".
I can't deny the similarities are striking between the two, but the up tempo beat and added techno sounds does give 'Born This Way' a distinct difference. Plus, Gaga's lyrics are much better, sorry Madonna.
But of course maybe Gaga wanted the controversy for album sales. It wouldn't be the first time an artist used such outrageous tactics to promote an upcoming album. Looking straight at you, Kanye West.
Lady Gaga's new album 'Born This Way' is set to be released on May 23rd. What do YOU think? Is Lady Gaga coping Madonna or not?
