Well this one is a shocker! Deadline.com is reporting that acclaimed director Clint Eastwood and singer Beyonce Knowles may team up for a remake of "A Star Is Born."
This will be the fourth remake of the film. The 1937 original had rising star Janet Gaynor falling in love with the fading Frederic March. In 1954, Judy Garland rose while James Mason fell. And in 1976, Barbra Streisand found her voice with the help of an increasingly self-destructive Kris Kristofferson.
And now we have Beyonce Knowles. I personally get the casting of why Warner Bros. wanted the multiple Grammy award winning singer in the title role but I have serious doubts regarding her acting abilities. Besides, Eastwood has been known as not the easiest director in Hollywood and is said to be very demanding of his actors.
No male lead has been casted at this point but current names floating around include Will Smith, Robert Downey Jr., Eddie Murphy and Jon Hamm.
Filming is scheduled to start in the fall. But first up, Eastwood will begin filming in Februrary on his epic J. Edgar Hoover biopic, starring Leonardo DiCaprio as the controversial FBI director.
So what do you think? Can Beyonce pull of a famous Barbra Streisand or Judy Garland role?
