The poor are helping the rich get richer

The GOP tax bills hurt America’s future. They hurt the poor and help keep them poor, they hurt students who are our future, they attack the elderly who will have their Healthcare under Medicare and Medicaid cut. They strip the poor of medical care.

The rich and corporations will pay less in taxes. I find the corporate income tax a joke. One is a bad businessman if they pay more than a token in corporate income tax. The allowable deductions far outweigh the tax.

It appears the Congress moving the rates down is of little consequence. It is still above what many companies pay. Major companies like General Electric, Priceline, PG&E, who have billions in income have histories of paying zero in taxes. The NY Times ran an article about how they do it which you can read by clicking here.

It takes a lot of accounting gymnastics to get to a zero-tax liability. Congress is just making it easier for their pals. They are taking down the smoke and mirrors of how a company skirts Federal Income Taxes. Why now, and how can they get away with it?

The ignorant and ill-educated are the key to the real Trump agenda

The real Trump agenda is not Make America Great Again, it’s cut taxes for him and his pals. To do that he needs the ignorant, ill-educated and white nationalists to stick with him.

He needs them to not figure out they are getting screwed the most by the GOP tax plan. The GOP and Trump are selling snake-oil to the disenfranchised that making them poorer, and destroying Healthcare and Education will make America great. They aren’t buying the message. They are buying the distractions.

If you were on Twitter today, then you probably saw Trump tweet a vile Alt-Right extremist. Yesterday, he was back on the “Crooked Hillary” theme. He won, Hillary is bouncing her grandkids on her knee, and he’s still talking about her. Have you asked why he is engaging in this bizarre behavior?

Many people think he is just plain nuts. He gives that appearance. I think he’s cunning and calculating. If Donald Trump is anything, he is a master at marketing to the not-too-bright. His success with his reality TV shows came from gearing them for people who want success and don’t have it. He knows that market well and has been bilking it for decades.

Trump and the White Nationalists

In 1991 David Duke, a former head of the Ku Klux Klan ran for Governor of Louisiana as a Republican. The GOP still possessed a few values in 1991, and President George H.W. Bush came out against Duke.

Donald Trump went on Larry King Live and told Mr. King that the vote showed voter anger. Media Matters published a transcript of the interview in an article they published in 2016 about Duke and Trump. You can read the article, and the full transcript by clicking here

“KING: Did the David Duke thing bother you? Fifty-five percent of the whites in Louisiana voted for him.

Mr. TRUMP: I hate-

KING: Four hundred New Yorkers contributed.

Mr. TRUMP: I hate seeing what it represents, but I guess it just shows there's a lot of hostility in this country. There's a tremendous amount of hostility in the United States.

KING: Anger?

Mr. TRUMP: It's anger. I mean, that's an anger vote. People are angry about what's happened. People are angry about the jobs. If you look at Louisiana, they're really in deep trouble. When you talk about the East Coast - It's not the East Coast. It's the East Coast, the middle coast, the West Coast-“Media Matters, February 29, 2016

From the article, we can see the emerging theme of Candidate Trump 25 years later. He understood them then and understands now what motivates this group now. He needs them to push his agenda forward.

If they figure out they’ve been scammed by a charlatan, they’ll turn on him and the GOP tax plan will tank. To keep them distracted, he’s using Benghazi, Crooked Hillary, and sex scandals to keep the base distracted from what he is doing to them.

His manipulation of his base was adroitly accomplished and masterfully maintained. He made the correct calculation that the GOP would vote for Satan if Beelzebub was at the head of the ticket. He needed the disenfranchised and he got them. Now, he must keep them. He uses Twitter to keep them in line.

A tepid response from the DNC is helping him achieve his goals. Did Chuck and Nancy go on vacation? The opposition to Trump is coming from the grassroots with no apparent leadership. It almost gives the appearance the Good Ship Democrats and the Good Ship Republicans is in a race to see who can hit the iceberg first.

If the GOP tax disaster is to be amended or defeated, the victory will come from the intrepid grassroots who are motivated even if the leadership isn’t.

Trump isn’t done with tax reform. He has signaled welfare reform is next. That will only be good for the rich who begrudge helping the poor. There is nothing new about that.
