The offensive and outrageous Donald Trump

Hundreds of Republican operatives, the backbone of the GOP, refuse to support Trump due to the fact he supports none of the GOP values of the post-World War II Republican Party, which saw 7 GOP Presidents in the White House to the Democrat's 6 Presidents through 2008. The GOP mega-donors are not giving to him, either. Which is good news to Senate and House Candidates who are cashing in on The Donor Whales dislike of Trump.

Normally, a high-end fundraiser for Trump in Illinois would be held in Lake Forest, Hinsdale, or Oak Brook. There was supposed to be a big ticket fundraiser for Trump today in middle-class Bolingbrook, Illinois. Bolingbrook is a nice city, but hardly a place that has big donors. The official reason is a scheduling conflict. Well, we'll see if it happens on its new date, September 19.

Many Republicans are sitting out this election. Then there are those Republicans, like me, for whom Mr. Trump is the straw that broke the Camel's back. 44 years of being a Republican, I've called it quits and am now an independent.

Policy alone is reason enough to Drop Donald Trump. I supported Governor John Kasich in the Primaries. I've watched Donald Trump for years and years. The fact the Party would nominate such a vile creature was the final straw. Anyone who actually believed the principles of what used to be the GOP prior to 2008, the year the party doomed itself, can't possibly support what is going on in the party these days.

Here is my list of the most outrageous comments and behaviors of Donald Trump. This is not what I can support and a party who would nominate a racist to head the ticket is not for me.

Trump on race and ethnicity:

Racism has been at the forefront of Trump's career and long before he was in politics. In 1992, Trump Plaza in New Jersey lost a case and paid a $200,000 fine because Trump had managers remove an African American card dealer to satisfy Robert Libutti of Secaucus. Mr. Libutti was barred from Atlantic City. Mr. Libutti had allegedly bragged about having ties to the late Gambino crime family boss, John Gotti.

Trump bashed African-American casino employees as “lazy” in racist terms, according to a 1991 book by John O’Donnell, who is a former president of Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino. In an interview with Playboy in 1999, Trump remarked that “[t]he stuff O’Donnell wrote about me is probably true."

Trump took three weeks for his one-time denouncement of David Duke and he claims to not know anything about white supremacists. Since the luke-warm denouncement of Duke, he has not denounced him or any other white supremacist again. A white supremacist delegate to the GOP convention had his credentials revoked as did a racist who posted a racial slur on Facebook, but only after it was reported in the press. Trump is not proactive on race. To the contrary, he fuels racial tension.

Donald Trump's rhetoric on Mexicans is well documented, too. He panders to those who hate Latinos. “When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best. They’re not sending you. They’re not sending you. They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.” This was part of Trump's campaign announcement; so this racist attitude is part of the foundation of his bid for the Presidency.

He has also described Jews in stereotypical terms. With women, he uses terms like “bimbo" and “sweetie”.

Trump made the comment, "The only card [Hillary Clinton] has is the woman's card. She's got nothing else to offer and frankly, if Hillary Clinton were a man, I don't think she'd get 5 percent of the vote. The only thing she's got going is the woman's card, and the beautiful thing is, women don't like her." I guess he missed the Pew Research showing Secretary Clinton holds a 59% to 35% advantage over Mr. Trump among women.  Looks like he got that one wrong.

The sweetie comment was directed at a female veteran and survivor of the 9/11 attacks. She asked him for a job at his new hotel in Washington at the announcement of his all male foreign affairs and defense team. She thanked him, kissed his cheek and he said in a patronizing way, “Thanks, sweetie, that's nice”.

As a Republican, I'm used to the decorum of Ronald Reagan. Can you imagine eloquent words coming from Donald Trump's mouth? How many candidates for President have you ever heard discuss their penis?

“My fingers are long and beautiful, as, it has been well documented, are various other parts of my body.” The comment was in response to Marco Rubio implying Mr. Trump had certain shortcomings as a man based on his hand size. How did this become a policy issue?

Trump has had a bizarre obsession with a Vanity Fair editor, Graydon Carter. Mr. Carter revealed that Mr. Trump has been sending Carter pictures of his hands for the past 25 years, ever since Mr. Carter wrote a piece for Spy Magazine, where he described Mr. Trump as a “short-fingered vulgarian.”

The GOP has become a party with no substance and home to racists and misogynists. That's not for me. More about that tomorrow. Trump is a symptom of big trouble in the GOP.

Today, the GOP conspiracy machine is in high gear over Hillary Clinton having pneumonia. Hillary will take some antibiotics and be fine. They need to be in a dither over their nominee, Donald Trump. I don't think there is any medication that will cure what is wrong with him.
