You may find this odd, but I have a special kitchen cabinet at home. Yes, I use it to store some of my favorite things.
And I don't allow anyone else in there. It holds all my goodies.
"What makes it so special?"
Ahh, so glad you asked.
THIS IS WHERE THE IMPORTANT ITEMS ARE KEPT
This cabinet holds my coffee, both regular and decaf. Coffee is the number one thing that gets me out of bed in the morning. Thus, it takes top place in The Cabinet. Paper coffee filters are here as well. Unbleached, of course.
There's a set of Salt and pepper shakers. Yum. I love salt and pepper.
There's a spare can or two of LaCroix. For when we run out -- and we will -- I always have a back-up stash. Just. For. Me.
One will find Chocolate. ALWAYS CHOCOLATE. And that's the second reason that makes me rise in the morning.
Wine goblets are kept well stocked. What else is back there? Is that a lone Smarties candy I see, lying in the background? And a foam paint brush. My, my.
A dictionary rests on the right-hand side of the second shelf.
"What?" you ask again.
To explain, a few months ago I couldn't find my dictionary. "Why is the dictionary in my special cabinet?" I asked to no one in particular.
"Where else would it go?" my husband bluntly replied.
I stood there, staring at the Webster's pocket dictionary in my Special Cabinet.
It was a bit disturbing that he opened the Special Cabinet. But I realized my husband was correct in putting it there, because I love a good dictionary. It's fun to look up words and discover their definitions and origins. My goal is to increase my vocabulary. As you can tell from this absurd posting, I'm still working on that...
I concede, the dictionary does belong there. Next to the Winnie The Pooh coffee mug. Near the Betty Crocker frosting for when I crave sugar and need to bake a cake. And next to the baking soda, which is kept there in case of oven fires.
See there, it all makes sense.
Because it's my special kitchen cabinet. Just. For. Me.
Please don't judge... instead, make your own special cabinet.
You'll be glad you did. ;)
