Many of us have come across or already participated in the Black and White Photo Challenge on Facebook: post a black and white photo each day without citing any words or individuals.
Since I like to do things differently, I decided to post the scenes I come across on a daily commute to work. I disregarded the rules and gave myself permission to use words and individuals freely.
Exciting stuff, I know...
A TYPICAL COMMUTER DAY
Most days are mundane on my way in to the office. I decided to stop and take a few photos of the images I see on a daily basis. How often do we stop to notice our landmarks?
Waiting for my connection on a cold and blustery day. Why walk in the fresh air when instead one can wait in the crumbling, dirty, smelly subway? Next stop: Jackson Boulevard.
Because commuting is exciting.
Coffee at home wasn't enough. Must... have... more...
As you can see, I'm an amateur photographer. An LG phone doesn't help either.
I'm always intimidated by the DON'T WALK sign. Should I run for it or wait? I wind up waiting.
About to cross the river. Readily available life ring, courtesy of the City of Chicago.
Getting closer. Passing the iconic Marina Towers in the distance.
One of my favorite scenes. Chicago boasts over 50 movable bridges. How's that for trivia?
So nice to see the decorations going up everywhere.
And so my work day begins. Hope yours is just as good.
