Playing Dress Up

My doppelgänger lives in France, according to my jet-setting in-laws, who frequent the romantic streets of Paris. My idea of the perfect day is to bask in a French café on a cobblestone street with my striking husband, sipping coffee whilst donning a darling hat. (I have given this scene a lot of thought, can you tell?)

The odds of relocating to Paris in the next 10 years are slim, so why must I wait to be a romantic, well-dressed, suburban icon and allow my sinister French twin have all the fun?

I don't!

Spring and summer brings warm sunny skies, bare legs and loads of special occasions. From royal weddings to reunions, this year is a flutter with several excuses to buy a new dress!

A lover of anything Anthropologie, I was enthralled to see the launch of their little sister company, BHLDN, which specializes in elegant garments, unique adornments and pretty unmentionables suitable for any special day.

"Inspired by the Dutch word for "to keep," as well as countless tales from family and friends of the extraordinary weddings they'd been part of, we began dreaming up something new."

At first glance, one may think BHLDN is reserved for a blushing bride. Mais non! Their one-of-a-kind dresses and accessories transform every woman into the most talked about attendee at any occasion!

A classic twist celebrating all types of romantic beauties, BHLDN creates items I like to call, investment pieces.

One year away from my 10-year anniversary, BHLDN has inspired me to celebrate events by creating fashionable memorable moments worthy of my wall of classic family photos.

Instead of stuffing myself into a frock I know will never again see the light of day, I love to invest in a few extraordinary pieces that make me feel like the style maven I have always dreamed I'd be.

À la prochaine!
