“Like” If you believe in Santa Claus

Recently my daughter asked me if I believed in Santa Claus?  Much to her surprise, my answer was “yes.”

In a time where children are being murdered in their schools, our country is speeding towards financial ruin and the antics of Lindsay Lohan are more important to the media than the thousands of homeless people freezing and hungry due to hurricane Sandy. Yes, I believe.

I believe that there would be a man who cares so much about the happiness of children that he spends his entire existence making sure at least one day a year he can bring them joy. No matter what else has happened in their year, because of "him", they have something "good" to look forward to.

I believe in the idea that one man can inspire children to be good, to be filled with excitement when they see him and sing at the top of their lungs, thinking about him.

I believe in the miracles of every day, from the smile of my new born son, to the thought of a man sliding down my chimney to put gifts under the tree for children around the world.

Without believing in some sort of miracles both big and small, this world is a hard place to live.

Is Santa “real,” that’s another question, but do I believe in him?  Yes!

May all the miracles of the New Year come true for you and your family.

Thank you for another great year.

David

  • I JUST absolutely loved this post. We are on the verge of knowing the truth here in this house with 10 year olds and they ask me ALL THE TIME, 'Mom, do you believe in Santa?'

My answer every time: "OF course...that is one thing I can say for sure is that I BELIEVE in Santa and the magic of Christmas."

    Merry Christmas, Dave!

  • Santa is real in all our hearts! Merry Christmas, Dave to you and your beautiful family. You are blessed!!

  • My belief is so strong in Santa Claus that this year instead of leaving measly cookies out, I am leaving bacon. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=453544194682412&set=pb.100000805061677.-2207520000.1356358776&type=3&theater

Beautifully put. In my house, if you tell em you don't believe in Santa- you get socks. And not the good ones. Crappy white sweat socks. Because in this world we live in you have to believe in little miracles, or at least in the possibility of them.

Despite everything I believe in Santa Claus. I believe in the Son of God being born in Bethlehem of Mary.

The last thing about Santa I believe in is that he will make all wrong turn right in the end.
