We have our own set of world class athletes right here in our own back yard and they are accomplishing great things.
dare2tri was founded by Melissa Stockwell, Keri Schindler and Dan Tun in 2010. The Paratriathlon Club empowers people with disabilities and welcomes them into the sport.
They are helping people go further and faster than anyone ever said they could. They are changing lives.
Their mission is 'To positively impact the lives of athletes with physical disabilities or visual impairments by providing opportunities to develop their skills in the sport of Paratriathlon while inspiring the community at large'. Their motto 'One Inspires Many' as they frequently hear after a race, their our athletes helped inspire someone to keep moving forward to finish the race themselves. Their website is www.dare2tri.org
On October 22, 2012, the dare2tri Elite Team will make its international debut at the ITU Paratriathlon World Championship. Four Chicago-based paratriathletes have qualified for this event, and will be traveling to Auckland, New Zealand to represent dare2tri and Team USA on the world stage. As the team prepares for this event athletically, they are in need of assistance in covering their travel, lodging, and race-related expenses. Please support these local athletes by giving them the opportunity to inspire many at the global level.
Athletes have many goals that they think about every day, worrying about how they have to pay to realize their dream, shouldn't be one of them, not when they have come so far. Click here to donate to the team and their efforts.
