If a race is going to withstand the test of time, it needs to be constantly growing and improving on the year before.
The options for runners continue to grow and on any given weekend there are several events scrapping it out for your attention and your dollar.
One event that has continued to improve and is worth the price of admission is the Fleet Feet Sports- Soldier Field 10 Mile.
It's initial draw, which is still pretty cool, is the opportunity to run 10 miles and then finish on the 50 yard line inside Soldier Field.
However the team at Fleet Feet Sports realized quickly that there needs to be more in order to continue to draw in runners. An upgraded course, better starting corrals and some pretty cool finishers medals are all a part of the improvements on this years event.
Not to discount races that are less than 10 miles, but there's something about running into the double digits, to me, when I cross that threshold into the double digits, it makes me feel like "now it's real, now I am doing something hard."
Yes, running 10 miles is hard, Fleet Feet Sports has made it as comfortable as possible for you to work your way through the course and back inside Soldier Field, where you can celebrate on the 50 yard line.
