If you are in the city and looking for a positive way to spend your lunch time and support the Chicago Police Department, join Father Dan Brandt of the Chicago Police Chaplains' Unit for a prayer vigil in honor of Fallen Police Officer Nate Taylor, who was killed in the line of duty in 2008.
Officer Taylor was killed as he and several other officers served a search warrant. The 14 year veteran of the CPD and former Marine left behind a wife and daughter.
The gathering will be held at 26th and California, in front of the court building, on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at Noon.
If you can't make it to the memorial today to honor Officer Taylor, then mark May 5th on your calendar and register for the 8th Annual Run To Remember 5K and Walk.
More than 550 Chicago police officers have made the ultimate sacrifice, giving their lives in the line and performance of duty. This race benefits the Chicago Police Memorial Foundation, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing assistance to the families of our fallen heroes, as well as providing assistance to catastrophically injured officers. The event is held at Gold Star Families Memorial and Park, which honors the brave men and women who dedicated their lives to protecting the citizens of Chicago.
