Free Race Entry and Awesome Thanksgiving, Turkey Trot Costumes!

The Turkey Trot has quickly become a Thanksgiving tradition for runners of all levels.  In Dallas the YMCA Turkey Trot is trying to set a worlds record for the most people dressed like Turkey's running in a race (because you can!).  Closer to home there are a few dozen different Turkey Trots to choose from and Phil(Going The Distance) Castillo has put together the ultimate list for you to check out.

We have two free entries to the RAM Racing Northshore Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving day in Highland Park, all you have to do is leave a comment below to be entered to win!

If you have participated in one of the many area Turkey Trots in the past, then you know that a good costume is equally as important as a good time! To help you get ready for race day, we put together a photo gallery of costume options for everyone in the family.

Run, walk, stroll, gobble, the Turkey Trot is a healthy way to get outside with the entire family, get in a little exercise before you sit down and eat, nap, then eat again.

If you haven't signed up for the 2011 North Shore Turkey Trot, there is still time and don't forget to leave a comment below for your chance to win two free entries to the 2011 North Shore Turkey Trot, a great race, awesome goodie bag and awesome way to start the day!

Good luck and "gobble, gobble!"

Great post! I especially loved that you found pictures of our little race in Connecticut to use for it! How awesome! We're in our 11th year. We love to race in costumes and we also raise a good chunk of change for the local homeless shelter. Thanks again for featuring our Turkeys!

  • Dave - Great article as always! Looks like it's going to be an awesome race. I would love to run it!! Thanks. :-D
