If you need a little last minute marathon inspiration then Runners High n' Tri. has what you're looking for, in all wrapped up in a nice barefoot running package.
Olympic champion and world champion Zola Budd will be making a very special appearance at Runners High n' Tri. this Sunday, October 2nd at 4:00PM.
Many of us remember Budd for her barefoot running style and her infamous crash with Mary Decker at the 1984 Olympics, beyond that Budd is a true running legend. Budd catapulted herself into fame when she broke the world record for the women's 5000 meters at the age of 17. Her junior world records in the 3K and the mile have yet to be broken.
Budd's story goes much deeper than being an amazing runner. As a child growing up in South Africa she began to run as a way to escape from personal tragedy that had fallen upon her and her family.
Her collision with Decker drew more attention, as did her status as a citizen of an Apartheid country. Hear how Budd's life has changed and how her love for running has not changed over the years, as well as get tips and advice for the big day on October 9th.
Spots are limited but still available, RSVP to Runners High n' Tri. 847-670-9255.
