Indoor triathlons are becoming more and more popular in cold weather areas like ours. They are a great way to get in a good brick workout, as well as use as a gauge for how your training has been going for the outdoor season.
For new triathletes, they are a great way to ease into the sport without a lot of the usual intensity that surrounds the sport. They are a lot of fun, have longer transitions, your family can be there to cheer you on and you don't have to get worried about some amped up 40 something, former state champion swimmer swimming over the top of you.
Together We Tri. triathlon team has been hosting their indoor triathlon for several years and has got the routine down to a fun, manageable and competitive science. This indoor triathlon is a one-hour race (10 minute swim, 10 minute transition, 20 minute bike, 5 minute transition, 15 minute run). Nice. If you need a little more than an hour, the DOUBLE CHALLENGE gives you twice the workout by racing twice!
