Race of the Year: Black Friday 5K And Food Drive!

That's right, the race of the year is here and it's absolutely free!
A group of us ChicagoNow bloggers are organizing The Inaugural Bloggers Black Friday 5K and Food Drive!
This is our way of kicking off the holiday season with a little positive energy and good times for all of you, who have supported all of us this year.

We need you to spread the word to help make this a success.

Hosted by your favorite ChicagoNow bloggers, this is your chance to come out, burn off a little turkey, meet your favorite blogger, donate to charity and then share a little holiday cheer at our Bloggers Black Friday 5K and Food Drive After Party at Casey Moran's!

Daniel Malinski- Cubicle Dad, Daniel Scogin-The Queer Guy Tells It Straight, Ashley Bond-Body By Bond, Awesome Barb-That's Awesome,  Lauren Kaminsky- Outside The Girl Box, Phil Castillo- Going The Distance, Me! and plenty of other ChicagoNow Bloggers will be at Montrose Harbor to run, collect food and hang out.

Normally races are butt early in the morning, but I think we have established there is nothing normal about our jolly group of brave bloggers. The fun kicks off at 3:00PM on Friday, November 26th.  That way you can sleep off your Holiday Hangover, watch some football, do a little shopping and right about the time your family starts to make you nuts, come out and play with us!
The run kicks off at Montrose Harbor and we are running the Girls On The Run 5K course, click here to see the course map.  There's plenty of parking and Fleet Feet Sports will be out there to help get the race going and add their support.  Thank you Fleet Feet Sports!

The race is free, instead of getting a goodie bag, we ask that you bring a goodie bag of food for our food drive, which will be donated to the Greater Chicago Food Depository.

Our race t-shirt is your race t-shirt, meaning, wear your favorite race shirt from the past, the person with the coolest old race shirt wins, something, still working on that one!

We are adding more details every day, so check in here and with your favorite ChicagoNow blogger for more information as we get closer to the big day.  Though there are rumors of a free beer station, instead of an aid station!

If you don't want to run, but do want to donate, then join us for the Black Friday 5K and Food Drive After Party at Casey Moran's! from 4:30 to, 7:00!  Bring a food donation to Casey Moran's and they will hook you up with free appetizers, $1 Coronas, $3 Domestics, $4 Svedka Cocktails, $5 Bombs!  After a long 3.1 mile run, walk, stumble, a few apps and ice cold Corona is a great reward!

Black Friday 5K and Food Drive!

We are trying to do a head count and since there is no official sign up, leave a comment below if you think you are going to attend.

See You Out There!
