A lot of you have been asking me about my race schedule for this year and my race goals.
If you keep up with this blog, then you know that my son was born with a broken arm, after a certain doctor, who I am legally not allowed to mention, broke my his arm during delivery. Then the residents at a certain hospital(again not allowed to mention the name of the hospital on the North Shore), continued to misdiagnose his arm and re-re-re-break it, until he had to have surgery at two days old to fix all of the doctor blunders.
You can click here to get the entire story. When we were left with a seemingly hopeless situation and a two day old that needed re-hab, we were introduced to the miracle workers at The Pathways Center in Glenview and the amazing staff that work each day to restore dignity and hope to the lives of young children and their families.
Since 1985 the staff at Pathways perform miracles everyday, they gave us what we were so desperate to have again in our lives, hope and a healthy son.
So this year, I am doing my best to give back to the miracle workers at the Pathways Center and I am asking you to join me, as I race 500 miles for Pathways.
Starting with the Shamrock Shuffle and ending with the Pumpkins In The Park 5K, I plan on racing a combines 500 miles in an effort to raise money and awareness of this great organization.
The races will be a mix of triathlon, cycling, running, kayak, time trials and swimming. The official "kick off," this Saturday with the Soldier Field 10 mile, the finish line, The Pumpkins In The Park 5k. Along the way, I am looking forward to taking part in some great events and meeting a lot of you, who share the same passion for these great sports.
I have 5 miles down and 495 to go, in June, I am scheduled to race 231 miles total, sometimes racing two races in two consecutive days.
Why? Because it's worth it. This is my way of saying thank you and I hope you're always there for children and families that need you. I ask you to join in, by donating to my cause. You can donate a Penny, a Dime a Dollar per mile, all of it is appreciete and all of it goes to a great cause. Click here or on any of the links above to go to the donation page.
I am still filling out dates for possible races, so if you have any suggestions, let me know, I am short a few. I need to thank the race directors and brands who have jumped in to donate race entries as well as gear to keep me going.
My "A" race, The Rev. 3 Triathlon on September 12th in Sandusky, Ohio. Nothing better than a 1/2 Ironman in an amusement park!
Brooks Running, Clif Bar, CamelBak and Enduro Shark, I could not make this journey with out you.
On the next page and in the picture gallery below you will see all of the races I am doing, so far. If you are a race director, or know of an event I should be doing, I would love to hear from you.

David--If you want to make it down to Texas for a race, happy to tag along. Plenty of good choices down here.
Dude, I wish I could. Next year, I am looking at 1000 miles and getting around more. What races should I be looking at?:)
Only need another 275 for this year and you hit a thousand!
My math. I have some extra race in there, just in case.
Way to go Dave! You are always on your next venture to help others! What an awesome example. I will see you this Sat at Soldier Field and at the Udder! I'll cheer you on! Take care. Lib
You are awesome. :)
