I've been working with Coach Jennifer Harrison for a week now, and it's going pretty well! The workouts have been interesting, and tough...each day has been a little different and the results have varied. The highlight was Tuesday... I ran for 20 minutes, with no walking! I doubted before hand if I could do it...but I did.
Wednesday was my first gym day at Bally's Total Fitness(Ashley Bond we need you). I was kind of flying blind as they were really just interested in selling me the membership. My "tour guide" asked why I needed a gym...why I wanted to work out. When I told him, he gave me a little snark. Which was a fantastic reminder...I know that I'm a big guy and have a long way to go to get there. Despite that he extended my free pass until the 15th, and then I'll start paying for my membership.
The workout consisted of 4 sets of the following: step-up, seated row, one-leg squats, chest press crunches and seated lat pull to chest. I was sore, but a good sore!
I've lost 18.5 lbs as of last Wednesday, not bad but I think I'm flying blind a bit...with horrible eating habits for so long, I think a dietitian would help, and am looking for suggestions/ recommendations.
Other than that, I'm working on taking this day by day...otherwise I get overwhelmed with how huge this seems. Friday I did, and I think it's because I'm working at balancing work, my wife and daughters, my wife's school schedule and marathon training.
And if anyone is looking to go for a run sometime, shoot me an email! I'll be doing the Santa Shuffle on 12/5!

You are doing so great, Dan! KEEP up the great work. Surely an inspiration for many!!
Thanks Jen! I've had friends and a relative or two tell me they're getting active because of this! Inspiring people to move is extra motivation for me!
