Would You Bid For This Woman On Ebay? The Aftermath!

Congratulations to the winning bidder!  $275.00!  That's what it cost to have dinner and an autograph jersey with Olympic hopeful Jenna Shoemaker in Las Vegas.

You are going to have a great night, because Jenna Shoemaker is a smart, engaging young woman who loves her sport.

An example. When Jenna was in Chicago for the Chicago Triathlon, she took her own time to travel from the city to Glenview to visit with a group of newbie triathletes, as a favor to a friend.  She took pictures, answered questions and listened as they all nervously shared their excitement and fears about the sport.

So winning bidder, have a great time and thank you for jumping in to support an athlete in need.  You are a class act, that gets it.  These athletes do need help and I commend Jenna for having the courage to make a statement like this, despite getting kicked around a little for doing it.  Nice job kid.

For those of you mad at me, thanks for reading, I appreciate your support.  I was a frat boy, loved it, I made friends that still last today.  I was also at one time, for a glimmering moment an Olympic hopeful, but a bad knee and no money made that moment very quick. I know the sacrifice these amazing men and women have to make and I admire them.  I am also a father, and the question was brought up "how would you feel if your daughter did something like this?"  The answer was simple "Proud."

It was brought to my attention that Jarrod, Jenna's older brother and professional triathlete, was mad at me, because his name and Michael Vick were mentioned in the same sentence.  A few things dude.  A. Way to support your little sister and make it about you. I haven't seen a brother that cool since Chet in Weird Science.  B.  Google your name for the 23rd of September, see if any other media outlet in the entire world, anywhere, wrote about you in any way?  Exactly.  Any press is good press "bro," and I don't need an Ivy League degree to know that.

Back to the topic at hand.

I think Jenna should do it again.  Instead of dinner in Vegas, how about a two day training camp here in Chicago? Ahem, Fleet Feet, Vision Quest and Chicago Endurance Sports this part is for you!!!!

Train with Jenna Shoemaker for 48 hours, learn from one of the sports best, $200 and only 20 slots.

Let's make something like this happen, for her and the other Olympians who are working so hard to represent all of us.  Who has a gym, who has a pool, who has a facility they would like to donate.

What do you think.  As we head into the off season, would you like to train with one of the best for two days?  If so, let us know.  I'm not sure if Jenna is even talking to me, but what the hell, if we never tried new things, think about how boring the world would be.
