Greg Bennett won't be racing in the world's largest triathlon on Sunday,
Aug. 30. According to Chicago Triathlon's Jan Caille, race owner and
organizer,
"We all wish Greg a speedy recovery; unfortunately he will not be able
to race Chicago this year - recovery from his unfortunate bike accident
is going a little slower than anticipated." said Jan.
As of last Thursday, Bennett had still hoped he could possibly make it.
He said, "The body is healing slowly, thank you for asking. I am not
certain if I will be at Chicago at this time. I am still waiting for my
knee, elbow and shoulder to recover and haven't been able to get in a
pool due to the open wounds. I am still hoping that if I can be back
training by the start of next week that I might be able to make it to
Chicago."
Last year's 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners won't be in Chicago, so the
men's pro race will definitely be one to watch.

David, stories like this don't help my motivation to do a triathalon. I have trouble not falling over while walking.
