Girls Lit From Within: A Guide to Life Outside the Girl Box always has the longest waiting list in my classroom. The book is as positive and upbeat as Molly herself, written with pre-teen girls in mind. It is full of great advice about taking care of yourself, getting along with others, and of course, staying outside the girl box.
My students say they love it because it's a "quick read," they can re-visit it often, and they can re-read it again and again and take new lessons away from it. My favorite part is the first two sentences of the book. "Let's get one thing straight, right off the bat. I love you."
Who doesn't want to read a book that starts like that?
