New Years Resolutions- Are You Conquering Them?

We are one month into 2014. Studies show that most of us write down, visualize or talk about our goals for 2014. Happy February. Have you conquered any of your goals/resolutions?

At the end of each year, I write a list of personal goals and professional goals. I reflect on the good, the bad, and improvement. Every January I come out of the gate running. I love the beginning of a new year. Its time to conquer the world. I keep my lists posted on a bulletin board, so I can see them everyday.

My personal goals always relate to purchases, home improvement(its never ending), and personal development. Some of these goals are large in size and price, others are small.

I try to use black friday for my medium or big purchases each year. Last year I got a new top of the line blender and a vacuum cleaner.

When I look at these personal goals, I am realistic about what I can achieve. Last week it was joining a gym. Do to a crazy work schedule, the removal of the basement gym in my building, and chiberia, I haven't been working out on a regular basis. Basically, I have chunked out. Partly my fault, and partly beyond my control. So last Friday night instead of hitting a happy hour, I signed up at the gym. I am keeping a gym bag loaded in my car. I am committed to getting in better shape.

This past month, I also did a small home improvement project. I changed out the door knobs in my condo. Chalk another item off the list.

As far as the business stuff goes, I have goals there as well. At the end of each year, I evaluate my business. What did I do well, what needs improvement, and how can I be more efficient.

Aside from helping my clients get organized, I continue to educate myself with classes, and grow my list of resources. There is always room for more knowledge.

Happy 2014! Have you hit the ground running this year??
