I spent a large portion of my childhood arranging and rearranging knick knacks that I was given as gifts. I still remember all of them. They took up the tops of two dressers, one desk, and space on my book shelves. And the sad thing is, many of them are still in my childhood room on the shelves. I don't need or want these things. To me, they always seemed like clutter.
When I organize kids room's, I often find the same thing. Parents always wonder why the rooms and surface area looks cluttered. On rare occasions, I will find a child that actually likes and treasures these little objects. Most of them view them as "Things I have to keep".
So when giving gifts...think twice about the knick knacks! Just say no!!
