This has not been the best week. A noise woke me up Wednesday morning around 3:30 am. I wasn't too worried about a burgular since I live next to the police station. Low and behold, I discovered that there was a rain storm going on inside my walls of my bathroom. I immediately ran upstairs to wake the neighbors. They didn't answer the door or my calls. I then woke up the neighbor next door; who shut off the water.
Five calls later, the neighbors above me woke up. Then they didn't want the emergency plumber to come in their unit! Hey, I like rain storms but not in my home. They quickly saw the light or maybe it was my anger. Problem solved. I was left with some seriously wet walls.
Next up..estimators. I swear I can do more by 8 am then most people do in a day! I was lining them up. In between working and taking the car to the shop!
And the next few days I spent on the phone with my insurance, his insurance, and the buildings insurance. Even in my attempt to keep the project organized, my head started to spin.
I kept repeating my story to everyone. I felt like I sounded like a broken record. In order to keep things under control, I made a list of what everyone needs from me. Many of the documents I need I have to get from someone else. Now I am playing the waiting game and the callback game.
Right now I am living in a wind tunnel! I have three different machines in my home for wall drying. The beautiful paint job in the bathroom is peeling off like cheap nail polish( you know the .99 kind).
Moral of the story, no matter how organized you are; there are always things that are out of your control! Fix what you can fix.
Three more days till my walls are back to normal!
