I am in a place that I never thought I would be again. If you have read a few of my past blogs you will note that my hubby to be went to the big house in the sky last year. So instead of relishing in the newness of honeymoon life, I am back to the drawing board. Yes, its time for me to date again! DAM YOU DANA!!
So like many of the other singles in this wonderful city, I joined a few sites. This isn't my first time at the rodeo! Many moons ago I was a dating diva! I could average three plus dates per week. Then I woke up one morning and realized that it was quanity not quality. I thought I was being open, but it was really being crazy. How could I think about going out with someone that was all out the outdoors; when I hate dirt! So true !!
So how is the busy business owner and writer gonna manage this new "project" ? With organization of course! And lets not forget the weekly support calls from friends! I thank God for Stacy!!!
Here are a few of my tips on how to make the most of your online dating time.
* Make a spread sheet in alpha order of people that you converse with(this prevents duplicate contacting ect) Shameful but true, I have made this mistake.
* Be realistic about what you want. Don't try to date the world(like I used to)! Date people that you are interested in.
* Watch out for serial emailers! Yes, they are time robbers!! They will email for weeks and never ask you out or talk to you on the phone! Cut them off!!
* Also watch out for the "number" collector. These people get alot of phone numbers and will call you a month or so later. What a joke! By then, you won't even remember who they are!
* Don't become the phone friend. Some people would rather chat for hours then meet!
* Keep your first date light and casual. Meet in a place that is easy to find each other. No one likes to go on a wild goose hunt.
And most importantly...enjoy yourself. Have a great time!! Don't take it too seriously!
Remember if it doesn't flow..it must go!!!!
