Hawks to open 2010-2011 home schedule vs. Detroit

While the full NHL schedule will not be released until tomorrow, tidbits of information are beginning to leak this afternoon regarding many of next year's home openers.

According to Blueland Blog, the Blackhawks' first home game will be vs. the Detroit Red Wings on Saturday, October 9th.
It will be poetic justice to see the Hawks raise the Stanley Cup banner to the United Center rafters in front of their rival Detroit Red Wings.
The Blackhawks will open their season on the road against the Colorado Avalanche on Thursday, October 7th.
