The unofficial kickoff of the annual auto show season, in the United States at least, is marked by the Los Angeles Auto Show. Held annually in late November or early December, the LA show has taken on an important role with automakers as the first opportunity to show their latest concepts and production vehicles.
I was on hand during the press days of the 2009 Los Angeles Auto Show on December 1 and 2. Like the economy and the auto industry itself, the show was subdued, with fewer new product introductions than we've come to expect in recent years. Some of the unveilings were simply rehashes of products that had already been shown overseas. There were still several new cars to see, though, many of which are featured in this slideshow.
