Simone's - Where Art Meets Beer

navbeer1

I have been patronizing Simone's for about 10 years, so it's high time I shared a post about them. Simone's appreciation for the arts and funky decor initially drew me in. They work diligently to showcase local artist's work throughout the venue right down to the menu. You can even admire a colorful exterior wall while dining on the charming patio.

Ideal Venue For Groups

The bar is an unparalleled place to party, especially for large groups with multiple rooms available. Simone's holds many dynamic events including DJ's, dance lessons, comedy, and more. There's even a cage near the main DJ booth to house devoted fans.

The Beer

Simone's offers a solid variety of beers with 10 taps and 16 packaged products. I started with a Founders Dirty Bastard (Scotch Ale) and was elated it was a $4 special of the day. While a couple of bottles caught my eye, I'm obsessed with drafts when I'm at a bar. I chose a Golden Monkey for my second round, which is a Belgian Tripel by Victory Brewing.

Delicious Food

Come for the beer, stay for the food. Every dish I have eaten has been delicious. My top pick on the menu is the quinoa pizza - toasted quinoa, caramelized onions, avocado, and mozzarella. I had an event to attend later; therefore, I didn't want to indulge in a full pizza. I went with another preference, which is the baked empanadas. You can choose three for a mere $6 and I chose spinach/artichoke and black bean/banana.

Fun Facts

Taken directly from Simone's website: Using various reclaimed architectural artifacts, the decor includes a bar-top built from a bowling alley lane, graffiti-scarred high school chemistry table tops and booths built from old pinball machines. The use of reclaimed materials fits in with Simone’s commitment to responsible and green-friendly practices which also includes a rooftop herb garden and banks of solar panels.
