Alulu Brewery - Pilsen's Hidden Gem

Alulu Brewery and Pub is relatively new and an absolute hidden gem in Pilsen. When I heard about it, I was intrigued by the food as much as the beer. Upon arrival, I was immediately drawn to the open-air window and attractive patio.

The moment I entered I felt at home with instantaneous acknowledgment from the staff. I inquired about sitting at the second-floor window and was told that floor was currently closed for special events. After a brief conversation, one of the friendly employees took me upstairs to explore. The venue is comfortable with lots of wood and a fireplace, accompanied by a plethora of art and preserved moss.

After letting the aesthetic interior sink in, I was ready to indulge. I couldn't wait to sink my teeth into the Curry Fries and Vegetable Lumpia. With assistance from the sociable bartenders, I chose a Java Waves (Coffee Blonde) and Ghostly Liso (Mexican Lager). I relished both brews, which were crisp, palatable, and distinctive. Alulu offers a wide range of styles including a Watermelon Kettle Sour, Funky Berliner Weisse, Saison, and Imperial Stout.

Thanks to the impeccable staff, funky atmosphere, and delectable beer and eats, Alulu exceeded my expectations in every way.

Fun facts:  1) All their beers are made in-house on the second floor of the brewpub utilizing just three barrels. They have 30 taps; however, generally use about 20 of them due to the 3 BBL system. 2) The head brewer, Frank Costanzo, is a Chicago firefighter and award-winning home brewer.
