Behind the unassuming storefront lies a bustling, friendly neighborhood tavern. I bellied up to the bar and knew I was in for a treat after perusing the current tap list. I intended to only have one beer; however, appreciated that wasn't going to be possible with the great selections staring me in the face.
I started off with a Cooper Project No. 3 by Goose Island. This bourbon barrel-aged imperial porter was smooth, delicious, and went down easy. http://bit.ly/2EgHKPM
I had my eye on another beer that was 11.8%, so in my best interest, I ordered some tater tots. The tots arrived in a substantial bucket with enough of them to feed me, Napoleon Dynamite, and Pedro. They were tasty, crispy, and helped soak up some of the alcohol.
The easygoing, attentive bartender let me taste the beer I was contemplating ordering. It was equally yummy and irresistible. XXI is an American Strong Ale by Firestone Walker, which left me feeling warm and fuzzy. http://bit.ly/2G1KcGq
Franklin Tap is an excellent pit stop for commuters heading to the Metra and Union Station. What better way to make your commute more tolerable by enjoying some impressive craft beer first. I can't wait to see what is on tap at my next visit!
