On Tuesday, the Dow Jones industrial average, fueled by optimism that the economic recovery is finally for real, crossed 13,000 for the first time since May 2008.
Naturally, such encouraging economic news couldn’t help but make GOP Presidential Candidate Rick Santorum, think of President Obama’s former Pastor-the Reverend Jeremiah Wright, and in the process, yet again craftily call into question the President's religion.
Speaking of encouraging economic news, last week the Labor Department reported that first time jobless claims had dropped for the third consecutive week-and to its lowest level since March 2008.
Oh, and since we‘re on the topic of the word “since”, unemployment fell last month to 8.3%, the lowest since 2009.
Did you notice how the word “sin” is in the word “since”? Republicans must have, because all this “blah blah since talk” has got them preoccupied with such 'reprehensible behavior' as
- A woman taking a pill which prevents unwanted pregnancy, and decreases: the risk of ovarian cancer by up to 70 percent, endometrial cancer by 50 percent, blood loss by 45 percent, cramps by up to 50 percent, and benign ovarian tumors by 20 percent.
- The act of being in love with someone who, among other similarities I’m sure, happens to have the same sex organ as you.
I know what you’re thinking- “I never saw the connection between positive economic news, and Birth Control or Homosexuality!”-Me neither! But the Republican Party is always here to be the voice of that which seems in conflict with common sense, reality, facts, and the unwritten rules governing human behavior- e.g. Don’t make shit up.

That’s what 23 months of Job Creation looks like, or as Mitt Romney puts it -“Iran will get a Nuclear Weapon if Obama is reelected”.
Anyway-remember how Republicans felt that shooting Osama Bin Laden in the face equated to…appeasement? Well, the GOP apparently feels that the aforementioned , unmistakable, unquestionable, inarguable, indicators of meaningful economic recovery, equate to nothing more than gay, elitist, liberal, drugs, taxes, deficit, Iran, Nuclear Weapon, Islam, Babies Dying, Food Stamp, Christian hating, Muslim, Hussein, Black Radical Muslim, Constitutional shredding, Socialism.
Eh, potato potahto, it’s all semantics.
