I'm fatigued from binging on holiday treats yesterday (including those Little Debbie snack cakes that are shaped like Christmas Trees...delicious), so I'll make this quick.
Go see these shows. I've seen them, and they're great:
1.) You Never Can Tell - Fast-paced banter, savvy characters, charm and humor. It's Gilmore Girls for the turn-of-the-century. Now playing at Remy Bummpo's Greenhouse Theater through January 6.
2.) It's A Wonderful Life: The Radio Play - This show has become a favorite holiday tradition for me. It's the classic story presented as a 1940's radio program, complete with sound effects and commercial breaks! Plus, free milk and cookies after every performance! Merry Christmas, indeed.. Playing at American Theater Company through December 30.
3.) The Santaland Diaries - Another Chicago favorite, specifically for those of us who overdose on Christmas cheer before mid-December and need a little dose of cynicism and biting wit to get us to the end of the month. Now playing at Theater Wit through December 30.
Now get outta here!
